The Moray Area
Guests will find the Laichmoray hotel in Elgin a natural centre for touring the North East of Scotland and Speyside. Only 65 miles from Aberdeen and 35 from Inverness, it's geographical advantages are clear. Elgin is accessible by bus, train and by air, via Aberdeen and Inverness Airports.
Whilst staying at the Laichmoray hotel, the surrounding area offers a multitude of activities. The Moray Firth Coast is only six miles from the hotel providing miles of beautiful, unspoiled sandy beaches. For those who enjoy golf, the North East of Scotland provides some of the countries notoriously challenging links courses.
Moray is home to two Royal Air Force bases, RAF Kinloss and RAF Lossiemouth. RAF Kinloss is situated beside Findhorn Bay on the Morayshire coast, a little north of Forres. The large base is home to the RAF's entire Nimrod MR2 fleet. RAF Lossiemouth, situated 5 miles north of Elgin, is one of the RAF's most important bases hosting 4 front-line primary attack squadrons of Tornado GR1 and GR4's. The base is well known for it's great spotting and photography opportunities.
