Inland, the waters of the river Spey and Findhorn provide some of the best fishing in Scotland. The Speyside Way, one of many walks in the area, follows the river as it meanders from the hills to the coast and the Moray Church Trail gives a glimpse of Moray's religious past and present. Elgin's Cooper Park, situated in the town centre, can be enjoyed by all the family, containing a public library, boating pond, crazy golf course, cricket lawn and play area. Scattered throughout the town, monuments such as; the statue of the Fifth Duke of Gordon atop the Lady Hill and the ruins of the magnificent Elgin Cathedral, provide a taste of the Elgin of old.
